Admissions

Many of our children join Sir Thomas Abney in the Nursery, aged three.

In the Nursery there are full-time and part-time places. A place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main school but children who meet Hackney Education’s entry requirements will move on to Reception where they will be joined by children new to the school.

Sir Thomas Abney Primary School is governed by Hackney Education’s admission procedures. Full details and procedures for online applications for school places can be found on the Hackney Education Website

Nursery application procedures are also available on the above website. Applications for Nursery places should be returned directly to the school office.

Moving to Secondary School

Secondary School Applications are made via the Pan London Portal at eadmissions.

The Hackney Education website has detailed information and guidance for parents. It is very important that parents visit the schools they are interested in and check the admission criteria for each of these schools in order to make sensible, well informed choices.
